Now in my 34th year with State Farm—and countless batches of cookie dough later—my mission remains the same: to protect you with the heart of a teacher and the dedication of a lifelong learner.

I’m blessed to share life with my wonderful wife, Dawndy Mercer Plank, a former WIS TV news anchor. Together, we cherish time spent with our three adult children—Chandler, Chase, and Camille—whether we’re out on the water, exploring hiking trails in the Upstate, or engaged in our church community. These moments fuel my passion for family and service.

Having lived in South Carolina since 1980, I’m a proud Socastee High School and College of Charleston graduate. Growing up with a father who was a career Air Force fighter pilot and a mother who was a dedicated high school teacher, I developed a deep respect for both the military and educators—values that continue to inspire my work every day.

I’m honored to serve the Midlands of South Carolina, including Richland, Lexington, Kershaw, and Fairfield counties. Alongside my experienced team, I help individuals and businesses in the greater Columbia area navigate their insurance needs with professionalism and care.
